Microsoft just announced the end of life for Great Plains or Microsoft GP. But what does that roadmap really look like in terms of the end of support for the product? I'm gonna try to help you navigate through this. So as of September twenty fifth twenty twenty four, Microsoft released the full roadmap for their plans with Great Plains. And the first date that is going to impact you as a Great Plains customer is that on April first, twenty twenty six, there will be no new customers able to be added into the product. So no additional subscriptions can be added. And that's really the first date in their overarching Great Plains deprecation. And then on September thirtieth, twenty twenty nine, so five years from now, there's going to be a complete end of life for the support with the Great Plains product. So no more application updates, no more regulatory updates, and really this is when we're gonna see a massive halt to the overall product. But if you're still using Great Plains at that point, there will be security updates that are ongoing just to ensure that if you are making that last ditch effort to move to the cloud in twenty twenty nine, you're still gonna be supported from those general vulnerabilities that will be coming out, especially at that point. And then the last date is April thirtieth, two thousand and thirty one, when all security updates will no longer be pushed to the Great Points product and it'll be completely end of life. There will be no more updates at all from Microsoft. If you're worried about the transition from Great Plains to Business Central, then fear not, Microsoft has created a lot of documentation about the differences between Great Plains and BC. So make sure to check that out.
