Dynamics three sixty five Business Central has two different licensing options that are essentials and premium. Today, I'm going to show you some of the features that are included in the packages and some of the differences with them so you can make the best decision on which one's going be right for you. So let's get into it. So here I am logged into Business Central under the business manager role. And if I want to go and look at the selection for Essentials or Premium and navigate between those, I'm going to go up here at the cog icon on the top right, and I'm going select the company information. Down at the very bottom of the company information, you're gonna see this user experience. The user experience is currently set to premium, but I can also select the essential. So this will hop back and forth between the licenses, but only if you have the premium license can you select that one or else you'll be defaulted to the essential. So I'm gonna keep it on premium and show you some of the premium features and then hop over to essentials and show you what you can take advantage of there. So within the premium feature, you're able to navigate to all of the manufacturing and service management modules within the system. So if I select the hamburger icon on the top and then navigate to explore more roles, it's going to pop open all of the different menu items that are available to me. And the two that are going to be available only with premium are going be this manufacturing and then this service modules down here below. So if I hit Explore, it's going to pop open all of the different menu items that are available to me in manufacturing. So production bill of materials, work centers, production orders, simulated production orders, production forecasting, and anything to do really with your manufacturing capabilities in the system are gonna be included in here. If I go back and go down into service and hit explore, it's gonna pop open all the menu items that are available for me there, including service items, service contracts, service invoices, the dispatch board, and service tasks. So these are just some of the menu items that are available for you within the service management module. These are the only two that are available the, only with the premium license here. If I go back up to the top right in my cog icon, and I now select company information, scroll down, I select my essentials, and then I navigate back, it's gonna do a refresh of the page for me and now only show me what's available for me within the Essentials license. So now I'm back in after reloading with the Essentials license. I can hit the hamburger icon up at the top and then hit Explore More Roles again to show all the available menu items in the system. Now you're still gonna see manufacturing and service modules on here, but if I hit Explore, you're gonna notice there's a lot less options for you to select from. So you don't have within Manufacturing all of the work centers, the machine centers, the production orders, the production forecast, or any of the production bill of materials. And then going back over to our service module and hitting explore, you're gonna see we no longer have our service contracts, our service quotes, our service invoices, or the dispatch board, or any of those capabilities. So really these manufacturing and service modules essentially go away whenever you're pulling away that premium license. But then you still have all of the same capabilities within financials, sales, marketing, purchasing, warehousing, and inventory. So if I explore finance, you're gonna see really all of these same menu items still exist. So those are the real differences between the essentials and the premium license. It all comes down to the manufacturing and service management capabilities within the system. So hopefully this has given you some insight into what the right package is for you to select when it comes to Dynamics three sixty five Business Central. If you need manufacturing and service management, you're going to select the premium SKU. And if you only need financials, sales, purchasing, inventory, then that Essential Shoe is going to be just fine for you. So hopefully you learned something in this video.
