A diagnostic review mapped options from stabilization to reimplementation, so leaders could choose the right next step.
Supported by Volt since early 2024, with a renewed agreement signed in 2026.
A U.S. manufacturer of commercial furniture for education, hospitality, and other institutional markets was already running Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central when it came to Volt Technologies. The system touched nearly every part of the business, from bills of materials and production to quoting, online orders, shipping, and warranty service. What the company needed was a partner that could support that system reliably and help it get more from the investment it had already made. In early 2024, it moved its Business Central support to Volt.
Volt took over day-to-day support, then ran a diagnostic review and laid out a roadmap to stabilize and improve the system. More than two years later, the company still relies on Volt and renewed its agreement in 2026.
Volt’s diagnostic gave leadership a full picture of the system before any changes were made. The team reviewed 17 integrations, covering payroll, banking, quoting, the website, shipping, file storage, and warranty, and mapped 41 business process flows across buy, make, sell, plan, move, record, manage, and service. From there, Volt laid out three paths forward: an 18-week stabilization, a 30-week reimplementation, or a 33-week option with manufacturing added.
The company’s Business Central environment supported a complex operation: manufacturing with bills of materials and routings, dealer and direct sales, and integrations with payroll, banking, a product quoting platform, the company website, shipping carriers, file storage for product drawings, and warranty service providers. Keeping that many moving parts working takes steady attention. The company needed dependable help when issues came up, along with a clear view of what to fix, clean up, and improve next.
Volt started with its Global Support program: an issue tracking system, weekly account management, and defined response times, including a one-hour initial response around the clock for critical issues and four hours for high-priority issues. Coverage spans U.S., European, and Asian business hours, with on-call weekend help and access to Microsoft Premier Support when needed. Volt then ran a diagnostic review and built a roadmap with options ranging from stabilizing the current system to a fuller reimplementation. The stabilization path focused on code cleanup, product catalog updates and enhancements, a Dataverse implementation, Power Platform management, a performance review, address verification, and updated training and standard operating procedures.
The company now has one partner accountable for its Business Central environment, with clear response times and a shared issue log instead of one-off fixes. The diagnostic review gave leadership a practical view of where the system stood and what it would take to improve it, so decisions about the next phase could be made with real information. The relationship is now in its third year, and the company renewed its agreement with Volt in 2026.
